Explore Beyond the Deep with Anne Bonny

Komodo National Park isn’t just a diver’s paradise, it’s one of Indonesia’s most spectacular playgrounds above the waterline. Between volcanic peaks, dragon-inhabited islands, and pink-sand beaches, there’s a world of adventure waiting for travelers who’d rather hike, paddle, and explore than strap on a tank.

Aboard Anne Bonny, our charters can be entirely customized for non-divers, from sunrise hikes and sea kayaking to starlit dinners and lazy lagoon days. Here’s a look at what your journey could look like.

The Ultimate Komodo Non-Diving Itinerary

This sample 6-day private charter can be adjusted to your style — whether that means more hikes, yoga at sunrise, or hidden beach picnics.

Day 1 | Embarkation & Island Welcome

Board Anne Bonny in Labuan Bajo and set sail toward Hatamin Island, a picture-perfect atoll of white sand and turquoise shallows. Spend the afternoon snorkeling, kayaking, or simply soaking in the view with a sunset cocktail on the beach.

Day 2 | Coral Gardens & Turtle Encounters

Cruise to Tatawa Besar and Siaba Kecil, home to crystal reefs, gentle currents, and abundant marine life. Snorkel with turtles and schools of reef fish, or paddle your kayak across the shimmering lagoons. The afternoon is yours for beachcombing, SUP, or an impromptu island hike.

Day 3 | Hike the Komodo Highlands

In the morning, drift-snorkel through the vibrant coral gardens of Gili Lawa.
Later, trek up Gili Darat’s hilltop trail for one of Komodo’s most breathtaking views — sweeping panoramas of the islands scattered across the sea. The evening ends with wine, sea breeze, and a fiery sunset from the deck.

Day 4 | Manta Rays & Pink Sands

Head south to Makassar Reef, a world-renowned manta ray cleaning station. Snorkel alongside these graceful giants, or simply watch from your kayak as they glide beneath the surface.
In the afternoon, drop anchor at Pink Beach, where rose-colored sands meet clear blue water — the perfect spot for swimming, paddleboarding, and sunbathing before a dinner under the stars.

Day 5 | Meet the Dragons & Watch the Bats Fly

After breakfast, go ashore at Rinca Island for a guided walk with park rangers to meet the legendary Komodo dragons. Learn about their behavior, habitat, and conservation — a true highlight of any Komodo trip.
At sunset, sail toward Kalong Island, where thousands of fruit bats take flight in a dramatic exodus as night falls. End the night with a barbecue dinner on deck beneath a starlit sky.

Day 6 | Farewell to Paradise

Enjoy your last morning swim before breakfast and goodbyes with the crew. Disembark in Labuan Bajo — camera full, heart fuller.

Non-Diving Highlights in Komodo

Trekking with Komodo Dragons

Guided walks on Rinca and Komodo Islands bring you face-to-face with the world’s largest lizard. Trails range from short scenic strolls to longer hikes through dry savannah, often with sightings of buffalo, deer, and tropical birds.

Beach Excursions

From the pink sands of Komodo Island to the remote coves of Sebayur and Kanawa, Komodo’s beaches are made for barefoot wandering, swimming, and lounging. Many are completely deserted.

Snorkeling & Kayaking

The reefs here rival any dive site — shallow coral gardens packed with color. Kayaking through hidden lagoons and mangroves lets you experience Komodo at your own pace, often with no one else in sight.

Cultural Encounters

Visit local fishing villages to learn about traditional life in the Lesser Sunda Islands. Discover hand-woven ikat textiles, meet the friendly Ata Modo people, and see how centuries-old seafaring culture thrives among these islands.

Tailor Your Own Adventure

Every Anne Bonny charter is private and fully customizable. Want to add yoga sessions, paddle safaris, or photography workshops? We’ll craft it your way. For those who love the journey as much as the destination, Komodo offers endless beauty both above and below the surface.
