The Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) experience is the easiest way to explore Indonesia’s underwater world without committing to a full certification.
Perfect for beginners, families, or anyone curious about what it feels like to breathe underwater, this introductory course is designed for safety, comfort, and pure enjoyment.

The DSD course is available exclusively on private Anne Bonny charters, allowing the schedule and sites to be planned entirely around your comfort and learning pace.
What’s Involved
Your instructor will guide you through the basics of scuba diving, how the equipment works, essential safety rules, and communication underwater.
You’ll then practice key skills in shallow, calm water before heading out on two guided dives to explore real reef environments at a maximum depth of 12 metres (40 ft).
- Short safety and theory briefing onboard
- Confined water practice session
- Two open water dives with instructor supervision
- Use of all dive equipment included
Certification
This is not a certification course — it’s an introductory experience.
However, you’ll receive a PADI Discover Scuba Diving recognition that counts as credit toward your future PADI Open Water Diver course if you choose to continue your training within 12 months.
Location
The DSD experience is offered aboard Anne Bonny during private charters in calm, clear areas such as Raja Ampat’s shallow reefs or Komodo’s protected bays, chosen for ideal beginner conditions.
