Advanced Open Water — PADI Certification

Take Your Diving to the Next Level

Ready to go deeper, stay longer, and sharpen your dive skills?

The PADI Advanced Open Water (AOW) course lets you expand your abilities while diving some of the most spectacular reefs in the world — from manta cleaning stations in Raja Ampat to the volcanic seamounts of the Banda Sea.

Available aboard both Calico Jack and Anne Bonny, this course blends adventure with learning. You’ll refine your technique, build confidence, and experience a wider range of dive environments under expert instruction.

Who It’s For

  • Certified divers (PADI Open Water or equivalent)

  • Divers looking to increase confidence, depth range, and navigation skills

  • Guests joining Calico Jack or Anne Bonny expeditions who want structured training during their trip

The AOW course is designed for divers who already feel comfortable in the water and want to add new dimensions to their diving experience.

What’s Involved

The PADI Advanced Open Water course includes five adventure dives — two core dives and three elective dives chosen with your instructor.

Core dives:

  • Deep Dive (to 30 metres / 100 ft) — experience greater depths safely.
  • Underwater Navigation — learn to use a compass and natural references confidently.

Sample elective dives:

  • Drift Diving (Raja Ampat & Komodo)
  • Peak Performance Buoyancy
  • Night Diving
  • Boat Diving
  • Fish Identification
  • Digital Underwater Photography

Each dive is preceded by a detailed briefing and debriefing session, tailored to the environment you’re in.

Course Duration: 2–3 days
Maximum Depth: 30 metres (100 ft)
