Next Trip
This 5-night dive expedition aboard Anne Bonny explores the best of Komodo National Park. With up to 17 dives, including night dives and world-renowned drift sites, you’ll cover a wide range of terrain: coral gardens, canyons, manta cleaning stations, and fish-filled pinnacles. Alongside the diving, you’ll hike to Gili Lawa’s panoramic ridge, visit Rinca Island to see the Komodo dragons up close, and enjoy a sunset beach BBQ under a sky filled with flying foxes. It’s the perfect balance of underwater thrill and topside wonder—guided by a seasoned crew who make sure everything runs smooth, salty, and unforgettable.
All itineraries are guides, not gospel. Every trip with Calico Jack is tailored in real time based on weather, conditions, and what you’re craving most.
Day 1 – Embarkation & Check Dives (2 Dives)
Board Anne Bonny and meet the crew as you settle in for your Komodo adventure. We cruise toward Sebayur Kecil, where you’ll gear up for a relaxed check dive to dial in buoyancy and soak in your first glimpse of the reef. After sunset, we stay in the area for a calm night dive—soft corals glowing, critters crawling, and the first hint of what’s to come.
Day 2 – Batu Bolong, Mantas & Drift Dives (4 Dives)
Today begins at Batu Bolong, one of Komodo’s signature sites—an isolated pinnacle alive with colour, current, and swirling schools of fish. Then it’s on to Tatawa Besar, a wide drift dive blanketed in orange soft coral. For dive three, we hit Karang Makassar, also known as Manta Point, where giant rays cruise gracefully through the shallows. We wrap the day with a night dive nearby.
Day 3 – Siaba Kecil & Siaba Besar (3 Dives + Night Dive Optional)
We move south to explore Siaba Kecil, where underwater canyons deliver dramatic terrain and frequent pelagic sightings. Next is Siaba Besar, known for its coral gardens, turtles, and macro life—perfect for wide-angle and close-up hunters alike. If conditions allow, a night dive finishes the day.
Day 4 – Gili Lawa & Sunset Trek (4 Dives + Hike)
We head north for some of Komodo’s most current-fed sites. The Cauldron and Golden Passage are action-packed drift dives that deliver speed, sharks, and swirling bait balls. After lunch, we slow the pace with a relaxing dive at Coral Garden, where turtles glide over vibrant reefs. In the afternoon, we hike to Gili Lawa’s famous viewpoint for a golden-hour panorama across the park. Optional night dive available.
Day 5 – Rinca Dragons, Crystal Waters & Flying Foxes (2 Dives)
The final diving day kicks off at Crystal Rock and Castle Rock, two of Komodo’s best-known seamounts. Expect strong current, huge schools of fish, and encounters with trevallies, reef sharks, and more. After lunch, we head to Rinca Island for a guided Komodo dragon walk—your only chance to safely meet one of these prehistoric beasts. As the sun sets, we sail toward Flying Fox Island, where thousands of fruit bats take to the sky in an eerie, unforgettable aerial migration. We close the day with a beach BBQ and celebration dinner.
Day 6 – Disembarkation
After breakfast, we return to port for hotel or airport transfers. Hugs, photos, and a memory card full of proof that yes—you really did all that in six days.
CAR TRANSFER TO/FROM THE AIRPORT/HOTEL
Our driver will meet you at the airport with a sign, name and Calico Jack logo on it. If you arrive one night before and stay in a hotel, we will pick you up from the hotel reception between 9 and 10 am on the morning of the cruise departure.
